Two years

Monday, February 16, 2015

February 15th marked two years being married! so we decided to take a little trip to Hobart for the weekend. we left on the friday night after work, checked into our hotel and decided to go to kmart to find a movie to watch on our laptop. living the high life haha.
i asked on facebook for some good pizza recommendations and crust was a clear winner, it didn't disappoint! we took it to the hotel to eat while we watched a movie. it was so good, we will definitely be back there.

the next day we wandered around the city and did a little shopping. after we were done with shopping we went to one of our favourite places for tea - Nandos. we don't have it where we live so it's always nice to go back there, as we don't go very often.
when we got back to our hotel Gavin made me wait in the car for half an hour while he 'set up a surprise'... i had no idea what to expect, but i was pleasantly surprised when i walked in, to see the bed all nice with confetti and some chocolate covered strawberries. he had even packed a drink dispenser with pink lemonade. it was a nice surprise.
on sunday morning we had planned to go ice skating, but Gavin's eczema was too sore, so we decided to just head home. we had a nice little weekend away, celebrating our two year anniversary, it sure came around fast!

and now, some photos :)

Happy two years xx

Our first Christmas tree

Sunday, November 30, 2014

This year is very exciting - we have our first Christmas tree! I put it on lay-by a few months ago, and we decided to put it up last weekend. A little early, but we couldn't wait! I made a little video of putting the tree up, there is a lot of camera shake though! Maybe i should stick to taking photos from now on? haha.

One Year

Monday, May 19, 2014

On the 15th February it was our one year anniversary. We actually moved house that day, and didn't end up celebrating until about a month later! We went our for tea at Hog's breath cafe. Our meal was delicious, and we had a nice night.

I'm lucky that i am married to this cutie! ^^

We were cracking up at the bib they gave me with my ribs!

After tea we could barely move from so much food, so we went for a walk around the seaport - what we did on our first date after Gavin came to Tassie to visit me for three weeks when we were dating.

We had a laugh talking about our time walking there, it was only our second date ever, and we both knew he had made the trip to Tassie just to visit me. We were laughing about how long it took for him to reach out and hold my hand!

We tried reenact the photo we took that night. It's a little blurry and Gavin's finger is in it too!

And this one below is from our second date. We look heaps younger!

I love this video below, it is a quick, 15 second snapshot of our first year of marriage. Lots of laughter and happiness, love and fun. Also the things not pictured, the fights and the frustrations, the heart ache and the tears . I wouldn't have wanted to share all of that with anyone else. I am lucky to have Gavin, he is so kind & funny, and we somehow fit together perfectly. Thanks for a great first year of marriage, Gavin, i love you xx

6 months

Thursday, August 15, 2013

I seriously can't believe how fast time is going! Today we have been married for 6 whole months! It feels like it has gone by in the blink of an eye, but at the same time it feels like it has been forever already ;)

In 6 months we have already lived in two houses, and moved from one end of the state to another. We have had 3 pets (and now sadly, only have 1). We have almost watched the entire 10 seasons of the tv show, Friends. (Gavin has been educated and now loves it as much as i do. Sadly we only have a few episodes left)...

I love you so much Gavin. I love you even more now than i did on the day we got married, i didn't even think that was possible! I have never loved someone this much before. I have also never had moments of wanting to stab someone in the throat with a fork so much before now! Just kidding ;) but you sure know how to push my buttons!

We have so many silly jokes between us, and i love that we make each other laugh everyday. We definitely have our ups and downs and hard times, but the good times outweigh the bad. And at the end of the day we go to bed happy... except when you roll over and over in bed and take all the blankets from me. that just makes me mad... ;)

Happy halfaversary Gavin. Can't believe i've been lucky enough to be married to you for 181 days already. I love you x

Wedding!

Tuesday, July 16, 2013

I feel like i need to finish off posting about our wedding so that i can get onto some more recent posts. I am loving having a blog to record our life together, it is such an easy way to put pictures and words together, and it is so nice to have something to look back on in years to come :)

Ok so... the wedding day! Like i said, the day was so much fun! I had a blast with all my friends as my bridesmaids and then of course seeing everyone at Brickendon for the day... You can also read about our sealing here.

I loved how the barn looked. We had fairy lights around the outside, and bunting hanging. I loved the pinwheels and the glass bottles - everything really!
My only regret (which i didn't realise until half way through the night!) was that i only hired one photographer and didn't have a second shooter to capture candid moments! I am absolutely kicking myself! i had a photobooth planned and that fell through, so i guess it just slipped my mind.

Ok - overload of photos time!

This cool thing was made of sticks, and we wrapped fairy lights around it and it hung above the dance floor :)

No idea what is so funny, but this cracks me up :)

.... and here comes the bride!

Asha was soooo cute! I really didn't think that he was going to cooperate at all, but we wrote on a chalkboard and told him to 'go and give it to Gavin'... he was hilarious!

He took it and RAN down the aisle...

Handed it to Gavin and then RAN back to us! so funny and cute :)

The chalkboard says - 'Gavin, here comes your girl'....

He then walked down the aisle with Jory (who was the cutest ring bearer)

and stood with all the other boys :)

My gorgeous bridesmaids walked down the aisle and then it was my turn! I hate people looking at me or feeling the centre of attention so i was super nervous! The music started to play.. and then stopped again! So we had a laugh and just went with it and walked down anyway :)

These photos are out of order, but we said some vowels and a scripture and also a poem, and then we said our i dos.. and that was it! time to party!

Our scrumptious cake! It was so delicious - we have the top layer sitting in our freezer ready for our first wedding anniversary.. or our first baby.. whichever happens first.. hint - it's definitely not the baby! ;)

Group shot of all the guests

Both of our families

My immediate family...

My maid of honour - my sister :)

My great-grandparents - my nana and papa :)

Gavin always wanted a little brother, and now he has three! :)

And now - a photo dump of some of my favourites! No need for many words :)

Favourite bridal party shot below ...

Hehe, love our shoe choice for the day! it was so comfy!

Favorite bridesmaid shot below!

I really treasure these photos - Asha knew that i didn't want my dress dirty and when he saw that it was dragging on the ground, he came running up to me and grabbed it and carried it along, walking behind me and said 'I'll help you Kayla!' ... it was the sweetest thing, and absolutely melted my heart.

Love these next two :)

I really treasure these next few photos as well (Seeing as Asha wasn't interested in posing in photos during the day) ... We were waiting to be announced so we could walk into our reception and Asha came to wait with us. He was hugging and kissing us. It was so sweet and i am so glad that nicole captured these moments! I just love them so much.

Teary eyed <3 p="">

I don't know what to say about this apart from we were super tired haha.

The end! Such a fun fun fun day!!! Loved every minute of it :D I just wish there was an appropriate place that i can keep wearing my dress! I love it so much :D haha

And that is the full story of how i became Mrs Jack ... << still sounds weird.
