On Jan 26th (Australia Day) i turned 19!
It's pretty lucky that i had this little munchkin to help me open my presents :P

Does what i am holding surprise you?? My present is a film camera (NOT an SLR that is on its way from America, not pictured)

Mum made me two pairs of Toni's PJ pants that i have wanted for ages.. they turned out awesome!! She did a wicked job! i love them!

We had a BBQ at home and i invited some family and friends, and the sister missionaries from church.

Pheobe giving me a birthday kiss

Nana Jane called me to say happy birthday and was chatting away for ages, then said she had to go but was wishing she was there with us.. about ten minutes later a car i didn't recognise pulled up in the drive way and out gets Nana!! She had decided to surprise us all with a two day visit on her way to Adelaide to see her dad. I was SO surprised and excited!!

My cake was this incredible one that mum made! It had FOUR layers and a tonne of raspberries on top! The middle also had some raspberries. It was DELICIOUS!
Thanks mum for such an awesome cake!

After the BBQ i went to town with my friends, who wanted to take me out on the town for my birthday, in the end Beth, Georgia and I decided to stay home and watch some movies, and eat pizza, which was great fun! Beth had cooked me a birthday Panna Cotta which was delicious!!! And was also in the shape of a love heart.. gold!

All day i kept waiting for some kind of change, to feel way older now that i am 19, but as the day wore on i realised that i am exactly the same! (kind of bummed with that one!) ...

As it was Australia Day we had a flag hung up, and i just love this photo of it on the washing line.. Although i don't like the meaning of Australia Day, i like the fact that we are Australian and would rather be celebrating that.

It was a lovely day, and i am glad i got to share it with those that i love the most :)

Pub, Pig and Falls

There is still time to bid on items in Toni's Queensland flood relief apeal auctions. Head on over and show your support. They have raised over $45,000 so far!!!

On day two at the shack we went for a drive to the pub in the paddock for lunch. It was literally a pub in the middle of a paddock :P

They have a GIANT pig there that drinks beer... Pretty sure that violates a lot of animal rights, but whatever. It's there. We didn't give it a beer, but we gave Priscilla a visit anyway.

After lunch we went to St Columbia Falls, which were beautiful. We are so blessed to have such gorgeous places in Tasmania!!

The pictures tell the story better than i can...

Such a beautiful place, and a lovely way to spend the day! :)

More shack posts to come soon!...
VERY soon, as i have so much to blog!!! :)

Shack - Day One

Saturday, January 15, 2011

My friend Toni is holding an auction on her blog with all money going to the Queensland flood appeal. So if you want to be involved somehow - head over and take a look!

And... You can read about our Christmas Day here...

So, on New Years Eve i went down to the shack with my aunty and her two kids to join the rest of my family. The drive was long and boring for Preston and Pheobe, but they amused themselves by fighting over my ipod.

I was grateful to finally get to the shack and see my family. Asha was being cute and i couldn't help snapping pictures of him straight away.

I think he was over it after the first one as he grabbed my lens cap and kept trying to put it back on the camera.

We headed around the corner from Binalong Bay, to a more secluded beach. Asha absolutely LOVES the beach and was happy just to crawl around and play in the sand, and the water! He did seem to eat a fair bit of it though!!

He loved just sitting and playing for ages ...

We were joking that Morgan looked like a crocodile on the lilo!

Chey had fun with Preston, burying him in the sand...

After the beach we headed to the skate park/park by the water and had some pizza for tea.

The boys loved having the whole thing to oursleves

Chey got a sole skate for Christmas and has become really good at it! He was even going down different ramps!

We then went back to the shack and had a quiet new years watching the count down on tv.It was a nice and relaxing new years eve - which is exactly what i felt i needed! :)
